Airline Terminal Project - The Santa Barbara Airport, owned and operated by the City of Santa Barbara, is embarking on a new Airline Terminal Project - designed to meet current and future passenger demand, alleviate long lines and overcrowding, and improve operations and efficiency.  The new terminal complex is expected to be complete in 2012.

Project Timeline

2010  Terminal Building

• Install water, sewer, power, and communication lines January-February 2010
• Install pad footings and grade beams February - March 2010
• Pour slab on grade March - April 2010
• Erect structural steel April - May 2010
• Erect/install metal decking, pour concrete on metal deck May - June 2010
• Set electrical transformer/permanent power to the site June 2010
• Install interior/exterior metal stud framing June 2010
• Rough in plumbing and electrical July 2010
• Install PVC and clay tile roofing August - September 2010
• Install exterior doors September 2010
• Install drywall September - October 2010
• Install baggage handling & TSA fixtures & equipment October - November 2010
• Install security systems and building finishes November - December 2010
• Tenant improvements - concessions and airlines November 2010 - January 2011
• Site work pavement and landscape finishes - January 2011
• Punch list and LEED flushing January - February 2011

Move into new terminal February - March 2011

2011 Construction Complete

• New Terminal
• New Loop Road
• New Short Term Parking Lot

2012 Relocation & Refurbishment of historic Terminal complete
